Adam Whalley – Estates Manager

I have worked for Pendle Education Trust for five years now, initially as the site manager before being promoted to my current role.

I carry out facilities management for all of our academies, along with coordinating maintenance both internally with our dedicated premises team as well as working with contractors to deliver a safe and secure environment for all staff, students and visitors to our academies.

My role is extremely varied, from making sure all the academies are compliant to local authority standards for facility management and health and safety to working on utility procurement and a solar panel proposal for the Trust. I have also helped to secure a significant amount of government funding for Condition Improvement Grants in three of our academies.

Jackie Edington  –  Attendance Manager

I have worked at Colne Primet Academy since 2000 and have seen the attendance manager role develop a lot in that time.

Every day is different, from attending multi-agency meetings to working on ensuring safeguarding procedures are met to problem solving with parents and their children.

I love this role because I get a real sense of satisfaction from supporting families and helping them to overcome a wide range of difficulties they may be facing.

Jack Farmer – Head of Humanities

I Joined Colne Primet Academy as an NQT and was promoted to Head of Humanities after a year with the academy.

I have been offered some fantastic career development opportunities in my time here, including enrolling on a middle leaders course. I also work closely with our sponsor, Nelson and Colne College, acting as the school’s coordinator for the Pendle Elite programme for gifted and talented students.

I love working for Pendle Education Trust because it opens up a lot of opportunities for collaborative working and career development.

Anita Flanagan – Early Years Leader

I have worked in early years education for 25 years and now have overall responsibility for the teaching and learning for the 60 children in the early years area at Pendle Primary Academy.

I work closely with our feeder nursery as well as the other primary schools in the Pendle Education Trust family to share training and innovative ideas, running sessions on topics such as story sharing. I also work with families

Teamwork is a key part of my role and is something which the Trust values highly too which is why it is such a great place to work.

Razwan Taj – Key Stage 2 Manager

I’ve worked in primary education for 16 years, mainly working with Key Stage 2 children. I have managed and led the curriculum for science, reading, writing and gifted and talented students.

Working for the Trust opens up some fantastic leadership opportunities for high quality teachers and it is fantastic to see those passionate and committed teachers really achieving their potential within our schools.

I am currently based at Casterton Primary Academy and have worked at Pendle Primary Academy as well as supporting staff at Castercliff Primary Academy, sharing expertise and best practice. I also work closely with local community groups and high schools.

Hannah Whittle – Head of Art, Technology, Business and Computing

I have worked at West Craven High School for over 20 years and seen it go through a lot of changes in that time, including some very positive changes since it became part of the Pendle Education Trust family.

I love supporting and leading staff in a range of subjects and have links with the art staff at the Trust’s other secondary school, Colne Primet Academy. I also play an active role in organising extra curricular activities for students including the Young Enterprise Tenner Challenge and art exhibitions.
