I have worked at Colne Primet Academy since 2000 and have seen the attendance manager role develop a lot in that time. Every day is different, from attending multi-agency meetings to working on ensuring safeguarding procedures are met to problem solving with parents and their children. I love this role because I get a real sense of satisfaction from supporting families and helping them to overcome a wide range of difficulties they may be facing.
I Joined Colne Primet Academy as an NQT and was promoted to Head of Humanities after a year with the academy. I have been offered some fantastic career development opportunities in my time here, including enrolling on a middle leaders course. I also work closely with our sponsor, Nelson and Colne College, acting as the school’s coordinator for the Pendle Elite programme for gifted and talented students. I love working for Pendle Education Trust because it opens up a lot of opportunities for collaborative working and career development.
I have worked in early years education for 25 years and now have overall responsibility for the teaching and learning for the 60 children in the early years area at Pendle Primary Academy. I work closely with our feeder nursery as well as the other primary schools in the Pendle Education Trust family to share training and innovative ideas, running sessions on topics such as story sharing. I also work with families. Teamwork is a key part of my role and is something which the Trust values highly too which is why it is such a great place to work.
